GridCity Programming

Downloading GridCity Files

The current version of GridCity is 1.1. You can download GridCity:

Downloading a Zip File

The easiest way to get the GridCity program is by downloading the zip file, containing everything that you will need. This is the right option for you if you currently have a program that is capable of unzipping files, such as WinZip.

Save the file GridCity-1.1.zip on your hard disk. Once you've downloaded the file, you'll need to unzip it. If you have WinZip installed and working, you should be able to double-click on the icon and it will open the WinZip program. Then click extract to extract the files and put them into a new directory called GridCity.

To make sure that you have installed all necissary files, look at this list.

A note about browsers:
Netscape 4.5 may change the name of the file from "GridCity-1.1.zip" to "GridCity-1_1.zip". Internet Explorer 5 does not do this, but both browsers are capable of downloading the zip file.

Downloading All Individual Files

If you do not have an unzipping utility, you can download the necissary files right through your browser. First, create a new directory named GridCity on you hard drive. Next, one at a time, right-click on each of the files located here and select 'save as'. A window will appear for you to select the directory in which you'd like to save the file. Select the GridCity directory you just created.

Using an FTP Program

If you are familiar with using FTP programs to get files, this is another option. To connect and FTP the files to your computer, open your FTP program and connect to ???? using a login name of ???? and password ????. Download all files in the directory.
